A Short Tribute

As I contemplate only one more Sunday in the Mesa 76th Ward of the Mesa East Stake, the heart wrenching words of a beloved hymn come to mind:

This song has played a special role in various good bye’s through the years. After 8 years in this ward, however, I’m bringing at least 2 handkerchiefs to church next week.

In the 8 years that we’ve lived in this ward, we’ve blessed 3 babies, baptized 4 children, begun and continued the journey of homeschooling in earnest, changed work 3+ times, listed our home to sell twice, only to name a few of the events.

But what can’t really be quantified are the opportunities for service and growth and the service we’ve received or the examples of true Christian Charity in the relationships of various sizes and shapes we’ve had with Ward members over the years. Despite whatever emotional or physical challenges we’ve faced, Ward members, Bishops, RS presidents, Visiting & Home Teachers, etc. have been there with just the right assistance and opportunities for growth that we’ve needed.

These past 8 years have been such a wonderful privilege and blessing, brothers and sisters.

Thank you!!

We will always consider the Mesa 76th Ward
                   home.
